the youth!

Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)

The V reminds me of the word “verily,” which reminds me of my churchier days and this verse.

Keeping with the theme, I’ve fallen from grace and stopped posting for a bit.  But I’m trying to make amends.  I just realized that the woman who does these is starting over at A after she does Z, but I’m not.  Man, that’s too much.  Or maybe I’ll do it until I wrap around to where I began, but man oh man, that’s too much.  She says: “That’s right, A NEXT ROUND, and another and another until forever.”  Forever’s a long time, Jessica.

I went to NY this weekend!
-saw a taping of John Oliver’s new show for Comedy Central.
-went to a totally awesome exhibition at “the hottest new museum in the world” *–but seriously, it was really cool.  You can see below some of the stuff they had.

*verbatim from an excessively self-important, middle-aged woman docent whose nestling had just left for Williams.

The second one is a book (I guess the first one is, too…), like an architecture model, but you can flip through… gives it three dimensionality, blah blah blah.  AND I’m so mad!!!  I just missed a new exhibition there that’s going to feature Nendo!  They’re totally rad, just check out this chair:

Fade Out Chair, Nendo

They’ve got a bunch of other really awesome stuff, too.  One more… then I’ll leave you alone:

Music Cage, Nendo

Get it? It’s speakers! In the shape of a birdcage … how cool.

In conclusion, it was my excitement about this exhibition’s being set up while a friend and I were there that prompted the above pontification about the museum.

(Also, soon after, the following:
To some old ladies who reeked of cheap lipstick and old woman-y perfume: “We’re such a young museum! The interest is very young!”
Ladies cluck: “Ooh, really?”
Docent: “Yes, just look!”
(gestures at us)
… )

All right, writing a paper now.  Better get back to it.

The museum pics are great. Also, if I remember, at Christmas I’ll bring some cross stitch patterns for some caps similar to these.
